Why do girls talk in their free-time?
Tonight, I'm sitting with my friends. We've been talking for several hours. I was wondering why girls can sit and talk for hours, but boys have to be constantly entertained when spending time together.
With a movie going, we didn't pay the slightest attention. Once we got lost in our conversation, there was no coming out until we absolutely had to. One conversation leads to another as everyone wants to share their feelings and experiences. We may start talking about the occupation of a sibling and end up talking and end up talking about a boy's smile or throwing up in seminary.
Every girl wants to know everything about everyone. We all want to know who everyone's latest crush is, and who how each of us grew up. Every time we get together we find out something new about someone. For example, we may find out that some girl named Hannah is in love with one this guy named Brian John Rich. I mean, what kind of name is that?
When boys get together, as I'm sure you can relate, their purpose is to impress the others with their physical ability or current relationship. Girls want to impress each other with the biggest gossip or juiciest story. We share our health problems and analyze Lindsay's love-life (Brad Levitt).
Girls feel the need to relate and know that others are going through the same things that they are. We enjoy hearing the kind comments of others, such as "I heard that he likes you." We find a lot of encouragment through our friends and the things that they say.
Rather than impress each other with physical abilities, we find comfort and enjoyment in relating with other girls and the things that have happened to them. Girls find the need to have close mental relationships, rather than physical. A friend doesn't become a best friend until you really know them inside and out (literally).
Girls can sit and talk because of our mental nature and desire for best friends. We have to have someone to share our feelings and experiences with. Without friends to talk to, I know that I would have a lot more bottled up inside of me.
