Why is my family the BEST?
I was born to my parents after three years of marriage, I being their first child. Three years later I got a brother who was followed by another brother and a baby sister. I love my family SO much. They're the best. But why? What makes them so awsome? What makes them the best?
I grew up going to several elementary schools. This means that I can talk about the families of old friends, because they don't know me anymore. When I lived in Idaho, there was a girl that lived near me that I was friends with. While her family was nice, they weren't very fun to be around due to their unhumourous nature ( I have absolutely no idea if that's a word, but oh well). It was almost uncomfortable to be around them, because there wasn't any humor. How could someone live without laughter and funny memories. I don't know how someone could, but I guess if that's how they're raised. That isn't how I've been raised. In my home, we constantly joke with one another, and watch funny movies. However, there is such a thing as too much humor if it's not the right kind. I have certain extended relatives who can take it too far. Our humor is just happy humor, without any harmful or hurtful words or actions. Our humor is focussed on making others more happy. That's the only way to have a "good sense of humor."
While humor is important, so is gratitude towards one another. I've had cousins and friends that haven't been raised to say thank you. Two simple words can make such a big difference in how people view themselves and each other. When I say thank you, I make the one I'm thanking, as well as myself, feel like a better and happier person. It's a simple habit that we've been raised to adapt, and it truly does make a difference in our attitudes towards each other and ourselves.
When I lived in Idaho, I had a friend who lived next-door to me. I went to her house about three-five times a week to play. She got along pretty well with her family, and so did I. However, there was something missing. It was religion. Religion in my home helps to keep my family united and at peace with one another. We are common in purpose as a family. What a wonderful thing to share a strong religion with my family. It makes us so much stronger individually and as a whole.
Finally, the last main thing that makes my family the best is our ability to have and express such love for each other. "I Love You." Three simple words, along with a hug or kiss on the head, make a huge impact on my daily life. Every morning and every night, I show and tell each member of my family that I love them. They return this favor to me, and it is amazing how much of a difference these simple occurences make in my life. There is never ANY question of who loves who in my family. We all love each other SO SO SO VERY much, and we all know that. What a blessing to know that I love my mom, dad, brothers and sister; they each love me; and they each know that I love them. I know that this is an amazing blessing to have in my family. My family is a big blessing in itself. They're the best.
My family is the best because we have a healthy balance of humor, gratitude, religion and love. Without these things, I don't know what I'd do. No matter what anyone ever says, my family is the best. I'm so glad that I get to write these blogs. While I never look forward to it, it forces me to notice things that I'm glad that I analize and notice. I love my family because they're the best!
